The characteristic scream of a TIE fighter's engines resonating through the hull of Rebel ship was enough to shake the spirit of even the most hardened pilot. As fragile as this imperial fighter craft was, where there was one, there were usually many, many more. Speedy, agile and stripped of all but the most basic weapons and flight systems, enemy fighter pilots often made short work of several TIEs, only to be overwhelmed by the sheer number of Imperial fighters flooding from the launch bays of a nearby Star Destroyer.
